Simpler Setup: 50% Faster with Key UX Fixes

When Factiverse approached me, their goal was clear: transform a complex setup flow for a new AI-driven feature into something users could actually enjoy using. The idea was already validated by AI, but the UX wasn’t there yet. They needed a functional, demo-ready prototype in Figma that could scale with future features. That’s where I came in.

Understanding the Problem

The original setup flow looked fine at first glance, but as soon as you tried completing it, it became clear how much friction existed.

Here’s what I discovered:

  • 6 unnecessary steps that made onboarding feel long and confusing
  • Repetitive headings and text, slowing users down
  • Links added as plain text with commas, impossible to manage
  • No design system, leading to inconsistent colors and typography
  • Cluttered UI with unused buttons like “Previous step”
  • Unclear wording, such as “Next step,” that didn’t guide users properly

Every small issue added up  making it hard for users to finish the process or understand what to do next.

The UX Redesign

My goal was to create a setup flow that feels effortless, while preparing the product for future scalability.

Here’s what changed:

  • ✅ 3 simple actions instead of 6: cutting the onboarding time in half
  • ✅ 40% less text, making it easier to scan and understand
  • ✅ 1–2 minutes faster to complete the setup
  • ✅ Dedicated “Add” button for links: clear, trackable, and easy to remove
  • ✅ Clean interface: only essential actions remain
  • ✅ Consistent styling built from reusable Figma components
  • ✅ Improved navigation to support future features

The new flow feels lighter, faster, and more intuitive without sacrificing clarity or flexibility.

The Result

The redesigned setup now takes just three steps instead of six. Users can complete it 50% faster, with a clear sense of direction and purpose. Every element serves a function. The best part? The structure is now scalable new steps or features can be added easily without breaking the flow.

AI created the foundation. UX design made it human.

Key Takeaway

Good UX isn’t about adding more screens or interactions. It’s about simplifying what’s already there — reducing friction, aligning the visuals, and guiding users naturally toward success.

That’s how you turn an AI idea into a usable, scalable experience.
